Kyoryuger Through 16 Episodes

 photo Kyoryuger_zps1772576c.jpg

In my previous Kyoryuger post, I mentioned how excited I was for the start of the series. Indeed, the first two episodes was an excellent and promising start to Sentai’s 37th installment. Unfortunately, however, Kyoryuger has taken a downhill turn since then.

One of Kyoryuger’s main problems is the lack of originality in its plots. Originally it started out interesting with each of the characters sans Daigo keeping their identity secret. That was an interesting and original twist and could have been interesting if the writers decided to make it a season-long plot. The idea was dumped by episode four. Still I didn’t think dropping this plot was a bad idea and worked out well, but since then the writers haven’t figured out how to make a single episode original. Most of the episodes have been ripped off of episodes from other series such as Kamen Rider Fourze, Gaoranger, Hurricaneger, Abaranger Magiranger, and Go-Busters.

To be fair plots from previous seasons in Sentai are consistently recycled. It’s difficult to keep writing original episodes when you have a show that has been on for 37 years. However, it’s unprecedented to see how many recycled plots Kyoryuger has used in just 16 episodes. Furthermore, many of these plots feel like they’ve been watered down from the originals of previous series.

 photo vlcsnap-2013-06-07-19h46m44s22_zps88fd328f.png

One example is the Utsusemimaru-DoGold plot, ripped off straight from the Rouki plotline in Gaoranger. The Rouki plot was an excellent story and the highlight of Gaoranger. Kyoryuger here has literally copied and pasted every point from that storyline including:
* A new villain introduced with the ability to control a spirit animal/Zyudenryu
* The villain ending up being a mask/body that possessed someone in the ancient past to save the season mentor.
* The person possessed becoming a 6th ranger, separating himself from the mask who is revived as a villain.
* The 6th ranger trying to act like a lone wolf out of guilt from a past event.
It also doesn’t help that the story feels a bit watered down and the execution was hurt by badly timed and failed comedy which I’ll talk about in a few paragraphs. To be fair, Ucchi has since then become one of my favorite characters and his history with his master who looks like Daigo was somewhat interesting, but it’s really disappointing to see a major storyline so blatantly ripped off from a previous series in your own franchise.

 photo Asuka-Jeanne2_zpsc15ff2c1.jpg

To be fair, recycling plots can work if executed correctly. Sentai’s previous dinosaur-theme installment Abaranger had a plotline with Jeanne/Mahoro and Asuka which was very similar to Jetman’s storyline centered around Maria/Rei and Ryu. However, Abaranger executed it perfectly. In fact, Maria-Ryu was somewhat basic in its execution. The Mahoro-Asuka plotline added a lot more depth to this plot, showing Mahoro at one point being raped, frustrated by Asuka’s inability to save her, and for a long time questioning rather her child was fathered by Dezumozoria or Asuka. Not to mention both juggled between being good, wearing the dark armor and/or siding with the Evolien to save each other. It essentially perfected the original Jetman storyline and never tried to copy it point for point. Whereas, Kyoryuger has literally copied Gaoranger.

Another major problem with Kyoryuger is the ill-timed and often failed comedy. One such example happened in the previously mentioned Utsusemimaru-DoGold plotline. In episode 10 when Amy mentions she changes TV-channels with her feet. It was ill-timed because it happened so randomly in the middle of a three-parter which was supposed to be dramatic and serious, but stopped it in its track. It also didn’t help that the gag was not funny at all. Unfortunately, much of Kyoryuger’s comedy comes off as incredibly stupid, rather it’s because of some of the show’s lame attacks like love potions and fart bombs, or an annoying MOTW like the one in episode 14.

 photo kyoryuger-villains_zps2fc24e1c.png

The silliness of the villains doesn’t help either. Most of them (except for Luckyuro, who’s voice actress has
done a good job) come off as extremely annoying and child-like. Even the more serious villains like DoGold feel underwhelming. And really, for being a more serious and supposedly “menacing” villain, why the hell does Chaos put up with them?

 photo KyoryuPink_zpseb3269ca.png

Unfortunately, the biggest victims of this messy writing are the characters. I do like Kyoryuger’s acting cast and feel many have potential, but they’re being ruined by the script. Amy’s the prime example. I wanted to like her. I felt at the beginning of the series she could be a good combination of badass and cute, similar to Pteraranger or Shinken Yellow. But she’s been victimized the worst by the poorly executed comedy, with gags such as the love potion, using her feet to change TV channels, awkward dialogue between her and Ucchi in episode 11, or an annoying MOTW during times she’s supposed to shine. It also feels like the show is trying too hard to make her girly and bubbly.

 photo KyoryuBlack_zps1016b2b2.jpg

Amy isn’t the only character suffering from bad writing. Ian’s personality suddenly changed from the brooding playboy to an overly nice guy with no explanation.  Ian’s actor I felt did great as the brooding playboy, but his personality has suddenly been watered down. If you’re trying to make him similar to Black Condor pay close attention to his development. In Jetman, it took Gai a long time to become a nice guy, and it was by gaining mutual respect for Ryu. It wasn’t an overnight thing which was out of the blue. Ian has also lacked focus, going 12 episodes before having a focus episode to himself.

Other characters like Shouji and Nobuharu are rather bland characters, with either no personality or one that consists of a lot of lame puns. It also doesn’t help that Nobuharu’s sister is an unlikable damsel in distress who constantly cries and complains. On that note, why the hell did they give Ayumi Kinoshita this crappy role? Do the producers and writers not notice that she played Jasmine, one of the great Sentai heroine of the last decade? I really hope Nao Nagasawa doesn’t have to play a crappy role in this series when she is due to show up in the series. Should I also mention, Ramirez has been ruined by the accent given to his character, which his actor clearly cannot pull off well. And really, why the heck do you need to give him an accent? The actor himself was born in Japan. He doesn’t need a weird accent.

 photo vlcsnap-2013-06-07-20h03m24s87_zps09f905c9.png

On that point not all of the characters are that bad. Despite feeling like a carbon copy of Gentaro from Kamen Rider Fourze early on, I feel like Daigo is a likable character. His actor plays the character well with some charisma. I feel the same can be said for Ucchi as well, despite the fact again that his character is a carbon copy from GaoSilver. I do like the storyline they added with him and his previous master who looked like Daigo, and so far Ucchi is quite the badass. Like Daigo, I feel his actor has done a good job bringing the best out of his character. So on that note, these two are Kyoryuger’s saving grace so far. I still think Kyoryuger can still become a descent series if it stops trying too hard to be funny and find an original story to tell.

Super Sentai Idol: Actors and Actresses who Have Musical Talent

For a while I've been thinking about making a post on which Sentai actors and actresses who I think are great singers. In the past decade, many Sentai actors and actresses have sung their own character songs. While others throughout the 80's, 90's, and 2000's have sung theme songs and insert songs. There's plenty of Sentai actors and actresses that have good songs, but these are the ones that I think have the best singing talent (in chronological order). I'm including samples of some songs as well.

Daisuki Shima (Yuusuke)/Red Falcon Liveman

Yuusuke/Red Falcon sung both the opening and ending themes of Liveman. I'm not a big fan of 80's Sentai music, but I think both the opening and ending theme for Liveman are the best among 80's themes. My favorite of the two is the ending theme. Overall I think Shima has a good voice with talent.

Megumi Mori (Megumi)/Blue Dolphin Liveman

Megumi Mori began her entertainment career as a singer before taking the role as Blue Dolphin on Liveman. She sung the insert song "Spark Umi E" on the Liveman soundtrack. That song has a nice rock beat, as you can see on the top video. Megumi also has diversity in her music. The second song I'm showing (Hoshi no Namida/A Star's Tears if my English translation is correct), has a much more relaxed, peaceful tone.

Kenta Satou (Riki)/Red Turbo Turboranger

Kenta Satou (Red Turbo) sung both the opening and ending theme songs for Turboranger, as well as the opening theme for Zyuranger. The openings for both Turboranger and Zyuranger are popular among the Sentai fandom. I personally don't care much for the Turboranger theme song, but the Zyuranger theme song is one of my favorite Sentai themes.

Toshihide Wakamatsu (Gai)/Black Condor Jetman

Toshihide Wakamatsu, who played one of the most popular Sentai characters ever (Gai Yuuki/Black Condor), also sung the Jetman insert song, Honoo no Condor (Flame of a Condor). I think the song is good, but not great.

Nao Nagasawa (Nanami)/Hurricane Blue Hurricaneger

Nagasawa Nao - To you by KHproductions

I had trouble trying to find videos for Nao Nagasawa (Hurricane Blue), but managed to find them. She sung the Hurricaneger insert song "Shinobi Koi" (first video, from 7:03 to 7:28) and also had some mild success in the J-pop industry (her top song reaching #27 on the J-Pop charts). I think Nao has a beautiful singing voice and some diversity in her music (some rock, slower ballads, evens some salsa thrown into a couple of her songs). However, her music is mixed for me, and tends to range from good (like the song in the second video, "To You") to pretty bland.

Shou Tomita (Yukito)/Abare Blue Abaranger

This is the only song that I know of from Shou Tomita (Abare Blue), which is Yukito's character song. However, I think it's a kick ass song. Nice rock beat, and Shou sings it perfectly. IMO it's the best of the character songs by any 2000's Sentai male actor.

Ayumi Kinoshita (Jasmine)/Deka Yellow Dekaranger

Ayumi Kinoshita's song, "Hard Rain," (first video) I think is perhaps the best character song. It has a nice, up-tempo beat. While I don't think Ayumi's is the best singing talent, she's descent and the up tempo beat to her character song suits her well. She also sung the Dekaranger insert song "Girls in Trouble" (second video) with her Dekaranger co-star Mika Kikuchi (Umeko).

Mika Kikuchi (Umeko)/Deka Pink Dekaranger

While Ayumi Kinoshita has possibly the best character song, I think her co-star Mika Kikuchi (Umeko) is the best singing talent among any Sentai actor or actress. She has a beautiful voice that's made for slow melodies. Like other Sentai actors/actresses, she has a character song (Sunao ~ Ima wo Shinjite) (first video), and also sung an insert song on the Magiranger soundtrack (Tenkuukai no Yasuragi/Peace in Heaven) (second video). She's not only good at slower ballads, but at rock songs as well, like the song in the last video, "Chihei no Kanata."

Yumi Sugimito (Miu)/Go-On Silver, Go-Onger

Yumi Sugimoto also has a good singing voice that really shows in her character song "Yume no Tsubasa." She joined her Go-Onger co-stars Rina Aizawa and Nao Oikawa to sing the song "G3 Princess." That song personally I think is ok, but Yumi and Rina both have much better character songs.

Hidenori Tokuyama (Hiroto)/Go-On Gold, Go-Onger

While not an actual character song, Hidenori Tokuyama's song "Miss You" managed to make an appearance in episode 31 (the G3 Princess episode), which I thought was easily the best song in the episode. The song sounds kinda like country, which isn't my type of music, but it's still a good song (the full version of the song is in the video above. I think Hidenori displayed a great singing voice in the song, which makes it easy to listen to.

Is Darker and Edgier Overrated?

Many fan favorite series among both Super Sentai and Power Rangers are series that can clearly be defined as darker and edgier. This includes Sentai's such as Liveman, Jetman, Dairanger, and Timeranger. On the Power Rangers side, Lost Galaxy, Time Force, Wild Force, and RPM are seen as the darker seasons. Sometimes, however, I think both fan bases tend to give too much praise to the darker series. Don't get me wrong I tend to like many of the darker series as well, but I think the lighthearted seasons are often just as good.

Photobucket

Power Rangers RPM is clearly the darkest power rangers season to date with the post-apocalyptic storyline. No doubt, RPM is one of the best seasons of power rangers ever made. In contrast to Super Sentai, I think Power Rangers is much better when it is darker, edgier, and more serious. This is mostly due to much of Power Ranger's comedic style which tends to fall flat. However, besides clearly being the darkest season of Power Rangers, RPM was also one of the funniest. RPM had funny characters like Ziggy and General Crunch, as well as a healthy dose of well used lampshades. It was this combination of being dark and gritty combined with its comedic aspects that makes RPM one of the best seasons.

Photobucket

Like RPM is popular with the Power Rangers fanbase, Jetman is a darker, grittier, and very popular series among Sentai fans. Like RPM, Jetman has some good and I might add very underrated comedic aspects. Jetman rarely attempted humor, but when it did it was quite funny. However, Jetman is one of the darker seasons that I think is also a bit overrated. There's some scenes in Jetman that are a bit disturbing, like daimond-like objects growing out of human skin and a later episode when Maria was transforming into a monster. Jetman also had some writing issues, particularly at the end of the series. For example, the end result of the Gai/Kaori/Ryuu love triangle was a bit rushed and the ending with Gai's death was so random that it was unnecessary and didn't really add anything at all to the series.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Then there are series like Dekaranger, Hurricanger, and Shinkenger. All of these seasons I think have a healthy balance of dark themes and light themes. They tend to switch between the two, but aren't overly dark or overly silly. The humor in all of them is pretty funny if you ask me, and proves that not everything has to be dark and gritty. Just like the darker seasons like Jetman and Timeranger are great series, I think these seasons have their own charm as well and work perfectly fine as well.

Jetman Series Review

Before I get to the review I'd like to apologize for the lack of activity in the last couple of weeks. Some really big family issues have come up that along with school will limit my activity here for the next few weeks, although I'll still try to post on this blog whenever I can.

Choujin Sentai Jetman (Birdman Squadron Jetman) (1991-92) was the 15th installment of Super Sentai. It's a tribute to a 1970's anime series, Gatchaman. The motif seems to be one of an air force squadron, and reminds me somewhat of the American tv show Pensacola: Wings of Gold. Jetman is a dark and very violent season, which came before they toned down the violence after Dairanger. Jetman is one of the more popular (if not the most popular) Sentai's around. It even received a sequel manga series.

The Good
Jetman is one of the more complete seasons of Sentai with a strong combination of excellent villains, good cast, and solid storyline. The Vyram may be the strongest set of villains ever in Sentai. Radiguet is pure badass, although I kinda like Rio and Wolzard more. Tranza and Maria are also excellent villains. What I really liked was the rivalry between Grey and Gai, especially the mutual respect they had for each other and the last fight between them. Among the cast members the most popular is Gai, and it's easy to see why with his strong character development. However, my favorite character was Ryuu. I liked the tragic aspects of his character, with his girlfriend Rie, and how it helps him grow throughout the series. Gai and Ryuu compliment each other really well. I also like Ako and Kaori as well, finding them both to be lively characters. I also love the opening theme song, one of my favorites among 90's sentais.

The Bad
Raita's development was kinda pushed aside in the mix of the Ryuu/Maria plot and the Ryuu/Kaori/Gai love triangle. The only real big gripe I have is how unrealistic the fight scenes are. I mean seriously, how many times is Ryuu going to get shot and not come away with a scratch, or how long it takes for them to henshin sometimes when they're clearly outmatched? Also, the ending with Gai being killed was out of the air and totally unnecessary, imo.

The Ugly
There's nothing terrible about this series.

My Rating
B+/A-: I'm kinda conflicted about this series, in a good way. On one hand I like Timeranger a little better among the dark and gritty seasons, but on the other hand I think this is one of the more well made seasons. Either way, it's still a great series.

The "my favorite episodes" section will have to wait a while. I saw the last 33 episodes a few months after watching the first 18, and I don't have an episode guide to follow. I'll edit this section after I rewatch it probably during the summer.

Poll Results, Best Sentai of the 70's/80's and 90's,

First, I have to mention that for whatever reason, my polls screwed up towards the end. Originally there were over 100 votes for the best Sentai of the 90's and over 70 for the best Sentai of the 70's/80's. But since those results won't show up, I'm just going to stick with the results I already have.

Photobucket

Jetman won the poll for favorite Sentai of the 90's, with 48 votes. From what I've seen of it (the first 36 episodes) it's easy to see why. Good villains, descent cast, plenty of good drama and action as well. Dairanger got second with 35 votes, barely beating out Zyuranger which had 34. Megaranger got 4th with 29 votes. Perhaps MMPR and In Space nostalgia are influencing the Zyuranger and Megaranger votes. The least number of votes was Carranger, surprisingly, considering how popular its comedy was.

Photobucket

Maskman won the most votes for favorite Sentai of the 70's/80's, receiving 32 votes. Liveman was second with 28 votes, Turboranger was third with 24 votes, and Flashman was fourth with 22 votes. Sun Vulcan and Goggle V were dead last with 10 votes a piece.

Should Saban Have Adapted Jetman Instead of Carranger for Power Rangers Turbo?

Photobucket
Photobucket

Besides having many issues with the casting of several unpopular characters during Turbo, the other major problem was how Turbo handled the Carranger footage. Carranger was a parody of all previous Sentais and was known more for its silly slapstick comedy. Carranger ended up being a major hit in Japan. However, the writers of Power Rangers Turbo wanted to make it a dark, apocalyptic season. The first half of the season, however, failed miserably because of the terrible handling of the Carranger footage. Some PR fans, most notably Linkara, have questioned rather Power Rangers should have even adapted Carranger.

I've also read some comments that Power Rangers should have adapted Jetman instead of Carranger, which was originally planned for MMPR. Admittedly, Jetman could have suited the writers nicely because Jetman was definitely a dark season, which was what the writers wanted. But there are still some issues with adapting Jetman. First, during the beginning of Turbo, Douglass Sloan was still the head writer. While I think Sloan's work as a writer for PR is a bit underrated, he certainly wasn't as willing to adapt darker, more edgier scenes that involved death and violence like Judd Lynn was. This could have watered down the source material tremendously. The other big issue is the casting choices made during the first half of Turbo, particularly with the casting of Justin to replace Rocky, as well as Alpha 6 and Dimitria to replace Alpha 5 and Zordon. Also, Jetman was an older Sentai than Carranger, albiet only 5 years older. Masked Rider didn't exactly do well when adapting much older, Kamen Rider Black RX footage.

Even then, if done properly, Carranger still could have been adapted into a much darker, more serious Power Ranger season. One example of this is RPM, which adapted Go-Onger. Like Carranger, Go-Onger was a lighthearted, comedy oriented season. RPM, however, successfully adapted Go-Onger's source footage for a very dark, post-apocalyptic season. RPM often did not use Go-Onger footage, but when it did, it tented the footage to make it look like it was a post-apocalyptic world. Especially involving fights outside the dome.

My Favorite Sentai opening theme songs

The one thing I haven't done a whole lot of is focus on the music of Sentai and Power Rangers. I'll start here with a list of some of my favorite Sentai intros and opening themes. As you can tell, I'm not much of a fan of pre-2000's Sentai music, but 3 90's theme songs still manage to make my list. Enjoy.

Jetman's theme song is pretty cool. The song fits well with both the intro and the fighting songs.

I like Zyuranger's opening theme song, a lot better than its ending theme. It's not quite as cool as Go Go Power Rangers or some of Sentai's other theme songs, but it's still a pretty descent song.

Megaranger's opening theme is by far my favorite 90's Sentai theme song. The song starts out kinda slow but it still has a fun beat.

I like the Timeranger theme song a whole lot better than the Power Rangers Time Force theme song. It has a strong beat, it's fast pace, and goes quite well with the intro. It's a pretty intense song for a pretty intense season.

Dekaranger's opening theme is awesome. It's by Psychic Lover, and just about every song by Psychic Lover is awesome. By far my favorite Sentai theme song and I often catch myself singing along with it. It also surpasses all of my favorite Power Rangers theme songs.

The Gekiranger theme song is also pretty awesome. Like Deka's theme, I often find myself singing along to it and it fits the intro quite well. The intro is also pretty awesome with all the martial arts action, except for some parts in the early part of the intro where the foot soldiers look more like they're dancing instead of fighting.

Go-Onger's theme song is also quite catchy and fun. Much like the series is. Not quite as awesome as the Dekaranger, Gekiranger, or the Shinkenger theme song, but still fits the series quite well.

Shinkenger's theme song is another totally awesome song. It's a collaboration between Psychic Lover and Project R. Catchy and energetic. It's my second favorite Sentai theme behind Dekaranger's. The intro is pretty cool as well.

Jetman Dance

I found a video of the Jetman dance. The embedding is disabled so you'll have to click the link. Personally, I don't really like the dance that much, but Kaori is unmorphed, teaching the audience how to do the dance. She's pretty and lovely as always. I also like the Jetman theme song and there's one really funny part when Yellow Owl falls on his ass while attempting one of the dance moves.

Sentai Influences I See in RPM

In a post about a month and a half ago, I talked about various influences that certain hollywood movies as well as PR and Sentai seasons had on RPM. When taking a closer look, many of RPM's characters are Sentai like. It's clear that writer Eddie Guzelian had seen his fair share of Sentai before producing RPM, or perhaps it's just a coincidence. Anyways, here are some of the influences I see.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Perhaps Dillon is a tribute to Gai (Black Condor, Jetman). Besides both of them being black rangers, Dillon, like Gai, is the brooding, rebel bad boy of the group. Also like Gai, Dillon has a rivalry with the red ranger, often mocking him.

Photobucket

Photobucket

As I've mentioned before, Summer has practically the same back story as Ran, GekiYellow. Their personalities are pretty much the same as well.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And last but certainly not least, the use of hyperactive, comic relief rangers, which Sentai loves to use a lot but is rarely seen in Power Rangers. Ziggy is similar to his counterpart Hanto in terms of personality, but he's even funnier thanks to some great acting. In fact, I think Ziggy is the funniest ranger ever in Power Rangers.

Gem and Gemma are very hyperactive, and finish each other's sentences (perhaps a wink at Nai and Mare). They're the complete opposite of their Sentai counterparts, Miu and Hiroto. Gem and Gemma get criticized by PR and Sentai fans alike for their hyperactiveness. Admittedly, they can be annoying, especially the first four or five episodes they appear in. Afterwards, they're toned down a bit and are tolerable. Personally, I like their Go-Onger counterparts better, but at the same time I think some of the criticism that Gem and Gemma receive (especially from Sentai fans, which I won't go into) is ridiculous since they're no different than how Sentai portrays some of its own characters, like Ban, Jan, Kai, Sousuke, and Genta.

My Picks for Cute Sentai Heroine

Since I made a post on hot Sentai heroine, I've decided to make a post for cute Sentai heroine as well. A post for attractive PR heroine will come as well. Enjoy :)

Ako/Sayuri Uchida (Blue Swallow, Jetman)
Photobucket

Though not as adorable as some of the other girls on this list, Ako is still cute in her own way.

Mei/Reiko Chiba (PteraRanger, Zyuranger)
Photobucket

Mei is quite adorable and cute, especially the different hairstyles she would use. For me, Mei is one of the few bright spots from Zyuranger.

Matsuri/Kayoko Shibata (GoPink, GoGoV)
Photobucket

Though I haven't seen much of GoGoV (except for the team-up with Timeranger), I though Matsuri was cute.

Umeko/Mika Kikuchi (DekaPink, Dekaranger)
Photobucket

Umeko is cute and adorable in many ways. Besides being short, she's energetic and cheerful, the kind of girl I would like to date. And she has a nice singing voice to.

Houka/Ayumi Bepa (MagiPink, Magiranger)
Photobucket

Houka is much like Umeko. Very feminine, bubbly, and a ditz. Though for me, not as cute as Umeko, nor as attractive as Urara.

Natsuki/Chise Nakamura (BoukenYellow, Boukenger)
Photobucket

Natsuki is one of the few yellow rangers that is feminine, and bubbly. She's childish but in a cute way. She's even more interesting of a character because she's a 100,000 year old princess of a destroyed civilization.

Ran/Mina Fukui (GekiYellow, Gekiranger)
Photobucket

Though Ran is much more serious personality wise than most of the girls on here, look's wise, she's kinda cute. For me, her best moment was when Jan was turned into a kid and Retsu was turned into a baby, her reaction was hilarious.

Saki/Rina Aizawa (Go-On Yellow)
Photobucket

Saki I think is another cute, cheerful character. Though not as feminine or as bubbly as Umeko, Houka, or Natsuki, she's cute.

Kotoha/Suzuka Morita (ShinkenYellow, Shinkenger)
Photobucket

Kotoha is another cute and adorable girl. Though she's tougher and more serious (most cute Sentai heroine are used for comic relief), her interaction with Chiaki, admiration for Mako and Takeru, and her innocents make her adorable, and like Umeko she's tiny. I guess what also make's her adorable is that she's so young as well.

My Picks for Hot Sentai Heroine

Sean made his own post a few days ago for his picks of hot Sentai girls so I decided I'll make my own as well. Here are my picks, enjoy :)

Kaori/Rika Kishida WhiteSwan

Photobucket

Not the hottest, but to me Kaori is still hot and look's a lot better on Jetman than she does here.

Chisato/Eri Tanaka MegaYellow

Photobucket

Like her PR counterpart, I consider Chisato to be very hot.

Nanami/Nao Nagasawa HurricaneBlue

Photobucket

I think Nanami is very hot, way hotter than her PR counterpart, Tori.

Jasmine/Ayumi Kinoshita DekaYellow

Photobucket

Jasmine is by far the hottest Sentai girl, and not just hotter than her PR counterpart (who's also hot) but hotter than any PR girl as well imo.

Marigold DekaGold

Photobucket

I guess people don't count her since she was only in the movie, but I think Marigold is also hot. She would make my top 5 if I was making such a list.

Urara/Asami Kai MagiBlue

Photobucket

Some think that Houka/MagiPink is hot, I think Urara is hotter. Especially in the picture above.

Sakura/Haruka Suenega BoukenPink

Photobucket

Sakura is also really hot. Her actress, Haruka Suenega is more feminine than her character is. Either way she's really hot.

Miu/Yumi Sugimoto Go-On Silver

Photobucket

Miu is another really hot girl, much hotter than Gemma from RPM. It's no wonder why she got into an issue of playboy :P

Mako/Rin Takanashi ShinkenPink

Photobucket

Ok maybe I think Mako is a little overrated on the looks side, but I still think she deserves to be on this list.
