Stop SOPA
If everyone hasn't heard by now, Megaupload was shut down yesterday by the U.S. Federal Government for copyright infringement. This is a big loss for toku fans since a lot of toku episodes had been uploaded to Megaupload. The shutdown of Megaupload also brought another realization, if SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) were to pass. For now, votes on SOPA have been postponed, but that doesn't mean the bill has been killed yet. This bill gives copyright owners too much power. Not only could this bill shut down file sharing sites, it can potentially shut down sites such as youtube, facebook, and even this blog. So basically, this bill would allow copyright holders to censor anything that they find an "infringement." So, in order to ensure that Toku is readily available to non-Japanese fans like myself and everyone who reads this blog, please join in on the fight to stop SOPA. For more information on SOPA, and how to properly fight SOPA, read the following link and watch the following video.
